Its kind of criticalĪs time is running out for me to return the Mac mini, so I'm posting here as well. This happens 100% of the time on all versions of Visio that I've tried. Posting to Apple Support Communities and getting no responses so far, I'm reaching out here in hopes that you Visio users may be able to reproduce the same issue. I called Apple Care support and although nice and courteous, said they could not I was able to reproduce the same problem on a friends Macbook running Lion 10.7.3. This issue is the same whether its Lion Server or Lion. It is the only thing stopping me from using Lion as a file server, which is why I got the Mac Mini server in the first place. I added (A) to this question for information purposes only in case it helps. Same message whether this is done on Visio 2003, 2007, or 2010. Visio, then try to reopen the file I just created and the same "access has been denied" message displays. I can create a new Visio file and share it to the SMB Share on Lion with no problems whatsoever. (B) The more perplexing problem from any Windows machine (XP or Win 7), when I open a Visio file, I always get "access has been denied" 100% of the time.

(A) The XP machines repeatedly give me the "device name is already in use" and a message that it cannot connect to the share. I have two problems that Apple Care support cannot help me with:

I copied the files over no problem and can authenticate and access them from Windows 7 pretty easily. I set up file sharing and enabled SMB for Windows clients. I recently purchased a Mac Mini (2011) and have OS X Lion Server 10.7.3 installed on it.
